I really wanted to write something sentimental. Something to show my true feelings, and to try to display how it feels to be a highschool graduate.
I won't, though. I can't.
But, I will say, that it's amazing how it all happens. Four years vanish in a matter of seconds, as you walk across the stage, shake Mr. Snare's hand, and walk back to your seat. Those four years disappear in those seconds, but yet, in those seconds, everything is a blur. You realize that people are screaming and yelling your name, excited that your passing through this monumental achievement. Yet, you can't distinguish what's being called out, and it all happens so fast, that after it's over...you can't believe it ever really happened. After three years of watching everyone else receive their diplomas, say goodbye, and leave for college, it's interesting to realize that this time it was me. All those hundreds of names that were called belonged to my class, my school. And, after one ceremony, I am now no longer a part of the student body population at East Lake High School. Rather, I am now part of the alumni.
It's amazing that it's all over. It's amazing that I have a cap, a gown, a tassel, and a diploma, right in front of me, showing me that it's now time to move on to the next chapter in my life.
Amazing.
